Welcome

The Broken Bow Green Coalition, hereafter referred to as BBGC, is a grassroots community organization whose purpose is to reduce the detrimental environmental impact of the community of Broken Bow, NE.

The ultimate goal of this coalition is to improve the community of Broken Bow and the surrounding area for current and future generations through programs and projects designed around three basic tenets:

Education: The dissemination of information pertinent to reducing the environmental impact and improving the energy efficiency of the community.

Promotion: Increasing the community awareness of existing programs and projects that align with the core goals of the BBGC.

Assistance: Donation of time, coordination of resources, and financial assistance to evaluate and implement projects and programs that align with the core goals of the BBGC.

These three tenets will be implemented in a stepwise fashion. The first stage will be education because it is the easiest to quickly implement and requires the least intellectual and financial capital. The BBGC is currently a very young and immature project and will need to grow slowly and organically in order to thrive.

If the first stage is deemed successful the promotion stage will then begin in order to perpetuate projects and reduce the likelihood of those projects languishing from lack of interest, knowledge, or time.

Finally, the assistance stage will begin in order to provide financial incentive for projects to decrease environmental impact and improve energy efficiency. The BBGC hopes to become a local clearinghouse to help individuals and business to seek funding for these types of projects.
